O'Brien Building is going to be demolished and on the site will be built the new drug & alcohol clinic, consolidating gorman house - rankin court & the caritas centre.

To fund this development the hospital says it has to sell the caritas site on Forbes-Burton & Bourke Streets.

For this development to be financially viable the hospital will have to find a developer who is willing to hand over the money at lest two years before taking possession of this valuable bit of land marked for commercial & residential development

and sydney city council wants to landscape the historic creek bed that once marked the eastern boundary of the settlement of the town of sydney & the site of the dam for Thomas west's watermill.. this grant of land dating back to governor Macquarie.
