the name green is
supposed to be the name of one of the hang men at the old gaol
in the 1800's
hundreds of people would gather there to watch the condemned hang
there are two memorials
in the park
one is the gay and
lesbian holocaust memorial on Darlinghurst road
the other is in memory
of dr victor chang (heart surgeon) on the corner of Victoria street and Burton
street
there is a cafe in the
old band stand
